Putoshare!
Sharing Love 811meters above sea level at Mt. Batulao....
this time the saying "the higher you get, the lower the IQ" was overwhelmed by the power of Love....
*joke lang yung the "the higher you get, the lower the IQ" hehehe the real thing is "its just a walk in the park"
This one taken during our datehike slash training climb prep for Mt.Apo this coming week, Me and Khaye loaded our packs with 12liters of water, change of clothes and lots of trail food and pack lunch. We did the ascent for 2hrs, short breaks included but we reached Camp 8 15mins slower than our best time of 45mins during a regular overnight trek. It might have been the cold since the wind was spine chilling and we started our hike around 7:31am and there was already a couple of groups also starting their dayhike (a hike that is just short of a day going up and down).
We also encountered mountaineers and visitors descending from their overnight stay at Mt. Batulao, a cheerful Good Morning and "ingat po Ma'am/Sir" is the usual greeting of strangers on the trail and at the campsite no matter how tired you are, you can always spare a smile not minding the sweat dripping on you face or the heat of the sun pressing your skin.
Did i mention that we have a special drink stoyed away in my pack? An ice cold water, ice still present. We drank it at the summit to celebrate our achievment that morning and after a sound rest and picture taking we descended back, we have to be back at the jump-off point around 12nn and be back in Manila by 2-3pm 'cause we have a scheduled 6:30pm debut coverage. Talk about the energy needed that Saturday.
One of the perks on a Batulao climb, fresh buko sold on one of the rest stops along the trail to the campsite, this one is near the fork wherein hikers choose if the will trek along the old trail or on the new trail, you can do both by traversing it but due to our hectic sked that day we choose the new trail.
In our haste and upon chancing on some mountaineers also waiting for a trip back to Cavite, we decided to join them in waiting for a Manila bound bus, since it was a cold windy trek and we are on time constraint, dang the wash-up and change of clothes hahaha it was a first for us and the only problem then was we forgot to pack our sporks for our pack lunch. I ran to a local karinderia and asked if they could sell us a spoon and fork but they instead gave us plastic utensils for free, thanks po!
Yes, we ate our sunny fried eggs and hotdogs on the bus bound for Manila.
